“Never stop praying.” Wait...never? Does that mean you have to pray during math class? At soccer practice? While you’re eating a sandwich? How is that even possible?

Here’s what it means. Think about talking with your best friend on a long car ride together. You don’t talk every second. Sometimes you look out the window. Sometimes you’re both quiet. But you never stop being together, and whenever something funny or cool happens, you turn and say, “Did you see that?”

That’s what “never stop praying” looks like. It means you’re always hanging out with God. You don’t have to wait for bedtime or church to talk to Him. You can talk to Him anytime, anywhere, about anything. And you don’t even have to say it out loud!

You can pray during a spelling test: “God, help me remember.” You can pray on the bus: “God, please help that kid who looks sad.” You can pray when you see a gorgeous sunset: “Wow, God, You made that!” Short prayers count. Silent prayers count. Tiny, three-word prayers count.

Prayer is one of the most amazing gifts God has given us. Think about it: you can talk directly to the King of the whole universe, and He wants to hear from you. That’s incredible!
