Today’s devotion

What Does God Want?
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Have you ever wondered, “What does God want me to do?” Sometimes that feels like a big mystery, especially for huge decisions. But guess what? The Bible tells us three things God always wants from us, no mystery at all. And they’re written right here in today’s verse!
First, “rejoice always”. That means choose joy and stay glad about God. Second, “pray without ceasing”. That means keep talking to God all through your day. Third, “in everything give thanks”. That means find things to be thankful for, even on hard days.
Joy, prayer, and thankfulness! These three are like signs that God’s Holy Spirit is alive and working in your heart. When the Spirit is leading you, these things naturally start to show up in your life.
The cool thing is, you don’t have to wait around to figure out God’s will to start living it. You can do all three of these today! Choose to be joyful, talk to God, and say thank you. That’s living exactly how God wants you to.
Think About It: Check your three “God’s will” signs today! Are you choosing joy, even about little things? Are you talking to God during your day? Are you finding things to be thankful for? Pick whichever one is hardest for you right now and focus on it today. For example, if thankfulness is tough, name three things you’re grateful for right now. You’re living out exactly what God wants!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
