Problems + God’s Presence
And the Lord appeared to him the same night and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham; do not fear, for I am with you. I will bless you.” Genesis 26:24
Have you ever had a week where everything seemed to go wrong at the same time? Your homework was hard and your friend was upset with you and something was going on at home and you weren’t feeling well? It feels overwhelming when problems pile up like that!
In the Bible, Isaac had a time in his life like that. In Genesis 26, he dealt with a famine threatening his food supply, danger from people around him, getting kicked out of his land, and constant arguments with neighbors. It was problem after problem after problem.
And right in the middle of all that, God showed up. He appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you.” He didn’t immediately fix every problem. But He told Issac something so important: “I am here. I am with you.”
Sometimes God removes our problems. But sometimes, He does something even better—He steps into the middle of our problems and says, “You are not alone. I am here.” His presence changes everything. Your problems look totally different when you know God is with you in them!
So, when your problems are getting too much and you feel overwhelmed, draw close to God. Tell Him everything you’re dealing with. He already knows, but He wants to hear from you. And as you come close to Him, He will come close to you (James 4:8).
Think About It: Think of one problem or worry you’re carrying right now. Now imagine God saying to you personally: “Do not be afraid. I am with you. I will bless you.” How does that change the way you feel about it? Write down or say out loud: “God is with me in this.” Let that be your reminder this week!

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
